First Overnight Road Trip - 3rd - 4th June 2018

This weekend, my brother (Camilo) and I decided to go on a road trip over the long weekend. Our aim was to apply a few principles from what we have been reading: 1. Vagabonding - go unplanned (didn't know where the journey would take us) 2. Stoicism - I followed a ritual that Tim Ferris advices based on stoicism, which was to put myself in the lowest position possible for three days (consisting of eating only the cheapest of foods, wearing the most minimal clothes e.g. track pants and a jumper, and sleeping in an uncomfortable location (which in our case was the car)) while all the time asking "is this the condition I so feared. He recommends to do this so that the person is able to put themselves in the position they greatly fear and realise it is not so bad. 3. Camilo decided to do a 24 hour fast from Sunday 10am to Monday 10am. So on Sunday, we woke up and looked out to the rain, deciding we would head where the rain wasn't. Food for Thought - Family Unity

A family of four sit together over the dinner table, enjoying the harmonious feast. An infatuating smell fills the air. Mouths water over the extraordinary meal that sits in front of them. Everywhere around, you see faces smiling, hear sounds of giggling, and pure joy fills the atmosphere. This is the beauty of Friday dinner time.  However, it didn't always look like this. One day there would be a lonely space in one corner, parents wondering where their daughter was spending this precious time. An other day, they would all sit  together, but instead of smiles, you would see faces of pure boredom. Of anxiousness to see what the friends had replied to a message sent two minutes ago. A mind anywhere else but here. Oh, how grateful are we that things have changed... How has this time in my family changed so drastically?... I ask myself. How did we go, from our isolated lives, to one full of loving moments together? Our dinner times are now on...

My Experience Living Off The Grid

Hello again 😄 Before I write, I want to bring some points to the surface. I have decided to make my posts raw, pure, and unfiltered. This means that I will write out my thoughts, maybe read through it once, and just let it out into the world. No triple checking for spelling mistakes, no grammar corrections, no eliminating and double thinking. The reason I chose to do this is because I feel like sometimes we filter ourselves too much, we write what we want but after dwelling on it for a bit, we chose to back off and not do it in the fear of what people may think or say. There is going to be no space for that here. The best way to connect with people is to be vulnerable and pure, so this is what will be.
